Rene will pick you up at 09.30am for your day tour of Auckland, our City of Sails.
We suggest you wear comfortable walking shoes, take a warm jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen and of course your camera!
Your tour will commence with a visit to Mt Eden close to your accommodation, a dormant volcano with some great views of Auckland.
Next, you will travel the Domain Museum giving you time to explore and learn more of our Maori Culture and Aotearoa “The Land of the Long White Cloud, after we will continue with a short walk to the Winter Gardens and where you can see some of our country’s rare and endangered flowers and plants.
Onwards your day will also include the Auckland City highlights, especially Devonport the oldest quarters of Auckland City and where you will travel up: Mount Victoria to where you can see far-reaching views over the Hauraki Gulf and Rangitoto Volcanic Island. At Mt Victoria, you will see the battlement guns which once protected Auckland from invasion by the Russians. There are a labyrinth of tunnels and bunkers and the walk around the base of the Mt is a great way of seeing the birdlife of the Harbor.
Devonport also offers great views of the Auckland Skyline including our Sky Tower.
We will continue onto some beautiful Memorial Gardens before stopping for some picnic lunch at Mission Bay (Lunch included)
Next, you will visit Cornwall Park and One Tree Hill and some of the outlining areas of beauty before being returned to your accommodation late afternoon
